The challenge
Northwind sells premium e-bikes with more than 2,000 possible configurations, yet their store showed a single static photo per model. Riders were ordering blind, and returns were eating into margins.
The approach
I built a WebGL configurator with physically based materials, so every paint finish, saddle and wheelset renders accurately in real time. Models are compressed and streamed in stages, which keeps the first interaction under two seconds, even on a phone.
The outcome
The configurator became the most visited page on the site within a month of launch. Riders now explore more options, order with confidence and send far fewer bikes back.
